Hello, My name is Mark, and I am the founder and primary author of SunSandandSeas.com. My wife and I have been traveling to the Caribbean since 1994, with visits to many of the most popular island destinations like Jamaica, St. Lucia, and the Bahamas, as well as some of the lesser known islands like Turks and Caicos.

Inspiration

The inspiration for the website came to me one day while reminiscing about past trips to the Caribbean and all the wonderful memories we’ve enjoyed throughout the years.

The Caribbean holds a special place in our hearts. It’s warm enchanting beauty can take your breath away. We have so many fond memories of our many trips to Jamaica and other Caribbean Islands. Whenever life gets us down, we imagine lying on the beach in the hot summer sun, diving with sea turtles, or sailing on sparkling blue waters.


Sun, Sand and Seas is our tribute to everything Caribbean.


As you might guess some of our favorite songs and performers have roots in Reggae Music. Here is one you might enjoy by the King of Reggae, Bob Marley.

Our hope is that you may find some enjoyment in reading about our adventures or learning about Caribbean culture.

For those of you lucky enough to have experienced Caribbean life, please feel free to share your thoughts and memories with others.
For everyone else, we hope this site will encourage you to someday make the journey. You’ll be happy you did, and you might just find, that you don’t want to come back!



Our Travel Journal

You can read all about our travel experiences in Our Travel Journal. Karie and I are very fond of the all inclusive resorts, especially the couples only Sandals Resorts. In January 2010, we will be taking our 17th trip to Sandals., and have stayed at or visited nearly all 13 Sandals properties. Beaches Resorts is also a favorite of ours, whenever we travel with children or other family members.


Where do we go from here?

Neither Karie or I are currently travel agents. Although someday we do hope to entertain the idea of pursuing travel as a full time career.
