The official language in Jamaica is English. However, most Jamaicans speak Patois, a form of broken English with a mix of Spanish, Portuguese and African phrases. What do you get when you mix Gospel, Reggae, with a twist of South Pacific Polynesian vibe?
‘Imisi
Brothers David (Tevita Ka) Fohe and Jubilee (Siupeli Koula) Fohe make up the Gospel Reggae group ‘Imisi.
The two brothers began singing together at a young age in a Tongan church where their father was the pastor. In their teens they lead their youth group’s worship team and went by the name “Youth Exodus”. As they began performing more and more at other churches/events, the then five-member group quickly evolved into far more than just a youth worship team. In 1999, they released their first recording Youth Exodus, “Live” through Eclectica Music, an imprint of N-Soul Records.
In 2003, the three core members, David, Jubilee and Joel signed a deal with a new record label, Lion of Zion Entertainment, helmed by their good friend and longtime mentor, Mark Mohr. Since they were no longer youths, they dropped their old moniker and decided to call themselves ‘Imisi. In their homeland of Tonga (an island near Samoa and Fiji), ‘Imisi (pronounced ee-mee-see), means “Image,” for man was created in the “image of God” (Gen 1:27). Excerpt from Imisi.com

Today, Caribbean Vacations inclusive plans have become so popular that most resorts offer their guests some inclusive features. Unfortunately, all inclusive vacation plans vary greatly by resort, so it pays to do your homework before you book. Generally resorts with higher upfront costs, mean more inclusions for the traveler, but be sure to read the fine print. If I had to choose a favorite Sandals Resort it would have to be Sandals Grande St. Lucian. Everything about this resort is truly Grande. Anyone looking for the ultimate in exotic luxury resorts would be very happy here.
Location
Sandals Grande in St. Lucia is situated on it’s own peninsula so no matter where you are on the property you have a panoramic ocean view. The view alone makes Sandals Grande St. Lucian worth every penny. The resort lies on the edge of Rodney Bay, the calmest water in all of St. Lucia. Rodney Bay has been a favorite spot for sailing ships since Columbus, in fact the area has a rich history of piracy and conquest. Nearby, perched high on a bluff, Fort Rodney is a lonely reminder of centuries of rivalry between the French & Brittish naval fleets. For those who love water sports Sandals Grande St. Lucian is a perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon on the pristine white sand beach, or sail around Rodney Bay on a Hobie Cat.
The Resort
As with all Sandals vacations, inclusive packages at Sandals Grande St. Lucian include all meals, beverages, activities, water sports and entertainment.
My favorite thing about this resort is the layout. Everything is laid out in such a way that you don’t have to walk very far to find what you are looking for. The beach is literally steps away from the pool, and you can stop at the beach bar or grill on the way.
Restaurants at Sandals Grande St. Lucian
Sandals Grande St. Lucian offers 5 inclusive restaurants including the 5 star rated Italian restaurant Toscanini’s. My favorite place to eat while at the resort was the Barefoot By The Sea, an open air casual restaurant with an enchanting atmosphere serving Caribbean favorites.
Josephine’s a country style French crêperie, specializes in delectable crepes and all things sweet. The name originates from one of St. Lucia’s most famous decendents, Napoleon’s wife, Empress Josephine.

If money is not an issue, then why not try out the Royal Estate 2 Story 1 Bedroom Beachfront Suite with Pool. At just over $22,000 US for the week, it’s quite a bargain when you figure the list price is over $44,000, better catch it before the sale ends.
