Overpriced, well that depends on what you are looking for in a family vacation. People say to me all the time, “All inclusive resorts are expensive. Why not go someplace cheaper?” I suppose if you are the type of person that sneaks soda into the movie theater or packs a week worth of snacks to save money while on vacation, then all inclusives might seem overpriced compared to traditional pay as you go resorts.
Unfortunately for those people, the new TSA rules prohibit packing a 24 pack of Pepsi in your carry on!
Let’s face it though, spending half your Caribbean vacation stocking up on food at the local market, or eating at MacDonald’s in Montego Bay, just to save a few bucks on meals, really takes away from the whole tropical paradise idea…
Are you considering all inclusive family vacations?
Looking for someplace the whole family will enjoy ?
There is a place where couples can relax together in tropical bliss, knowing all the while, that their kids are having the time of their lives.
We all know parents need a break now and then. A break from the everyday stress of work, finances and yes, even the kids. But wait! You’re planning a family vacation to spend more time with the kids right! Of course.
What if?
You Didn’t have to Work…. Didn’t have to cook….. Didn’t have to clean… Didn’t have to do all those routine chores that take up so much time!
What if the most stressful thing you had to do all day was choosing between…
Lying on a warm sugar-sand beach or…
Taking a cooling swim over to the pool bar, for a refreshing icy beverage?
Perhaps that might free up a little more time to do the things you really love to do. Like rekindling some old flames, while the kids are entertained with nonstop excitement.
Caribbean All Inclusive Family Vacations Kids, Teens and Parents…
will remember Forever!
My wife and I have been traveling to the Islands of the Caribbean for over 15 years now. We enjoy going to the all inclusive couples only resorts the most, but as our kids grew older we wanted to spend more time with them. Like many parents we figured the kids would want to go to Disney, but to our surprise, when given the choice, they both chose Jamaica. This was a great relief for my wife and I, since neither of us really wanted to go to Disney anyway. Waiting in long lines, wondering how much dinner was going to cost, making sure the whole family had fun, all the while trying to get some much needed relaxation. It just didn’t seem like a vacation to me.
We were already used to the novelty of all inclusive resorts so going from couples resorts to a all inclusive family vacations seemed like the next step. By the way we still love the couples only resorts, but for now until the kids are out of the house, we’ll be spending most of our Caribbean vacations with them.
So where is this dream vacation?

Jamaican born, Osmond Collins, began singing professionally in 1983 and has been going strong ever since. With a promising career ahead singing R&B as well as composing & writing, Osmond Collins worked his way into the hearts of thousands in the US and West Indies.
From OsmondCollins.com
In March 1987 he signed publishing contracts with MCA Records. While preparing to sign an artist contract Osmond experienced a shift in his musical direction. This shift caused him to give up the MCA contracts to pursue a Christian music career/ministry.
Osmond’s stunning stage presence and his ability to present the Word in song is both mesmerizing and unforgettable. His audience stretches over three continents: Europe, much of Western and Southern Africa, the West Indies and the U.S. where he has resided most of his life. Osmond travels extensively and he continues to be called back again and again to the different nations.

Rick’s Cafe in Negril is one of the most well known places in all of Jamaica, and probably the Caribbean as well.
History:
In 1974, Rick’s Cafe was opened by founder, Richard Hershman, as the first public bar and restaurant of it’s kind on Negril’s west end cliffs. Negril at this time was primarily a fishing village, lacking most basic amenities like electricity and telephone.
Devastated by Hurricanes
Rick’s Cafe has been completely destroyed several times by hurricanes Gilbert in 1988, and even worse by Ivan in 2004 when waves in excess of 60-80 feet crashed over the cliffs. Today Rick’s has come back bigger and better then ever featuring a large pool and new dining facilities.
Sunsets:
Perched high on a cliff side, Rick’s is known as the best place in Jamaica for watching the incredible Negril sunsets.
Cliff Diving:
Rick’s cafe also has one of the best coves in the west end, and is known world wide for the exciting cliff diving that takes place here. Each year countless visitors and locals take the plunge at Rick’s Cafe into the crystal clear waters below. The highest platform being 35 feet above the water. For $15 the famous “Birdman” will dive, not from the platform, but from a tall tree towering above the cliff. Watch the video below.
A word of caution!!
Please be advised that diving here is best left up to the professional divers at Rick’s, and can be extremely dangerous. many people have been severely injured, and emergency medical help is limited at best.
Dining:
Rick’s Cafe serves a full menu of Jamaican specialties and seafood. Appetizers like Bufallo Wings and Jerk Chicken Skewers will run $8-$12. Entrees range from $15-$25 US.
Here are some selections from the menu:
SAUTÉED CARIBBEAN JUMBO SHRIMP, $18
Shrimp tossed in green pepper, tomatoes, and garlic
WEST END TRIO $23
Combination of three Jamaican specialties gives you grilled steak, jerk chicken breast and sautéed Escoveitch Snapper.
LOBSTER LINGUINI $22
A heap of tender lobster and linguini tossed in a light cream sauce makes this a Rick’s specialty.
Drink’s at Ricks Cafe are fairly reasonably priced from $4-$7 US. Bottle service is also available.
Music:
The heat really turns up when the sun goes down at Rick’s Cafe. You’ll be jammin’ all night as you Dance to the rhythms of house band “Dollyman” performing true Jamaican Reggae 365 days a year, rain or shine.
Packages:
Ricks offers some great packages for all day fun. For $175 US the Irie Vip Package let’s you can spend the day at Rick’s in a private cabana. You’ll also get: a bottle of Appleton Rum, 2 Rick’s Cafe Beach towels, an appetizer of your choice, as well as a free gift. Other packages available as well.
